A well watched piece of Mid-berks water. It regularly turns up good stuff throughout the year. Highlights have been a first lesser scaup, bluethroat, red-footed falcon as well as less spectacular grebes, ducks and waders. The Kennet runs along its northern edge and it is great for warblers, turtle dove (in 2011 one of the few reliable sites left); Cetti's warbler has made it a stronghold and can be heard at any time of the year
