April 20th

Dorney Wetlands

This rather dull wheatear was the only new bird this am. The "it's still early" mantra I console myself with is beginning to wear a bit thin. A whinchat at Burnthouse lane today means that I now hope to see one here  tomorrow!

The western, disused section of the sewage farm looks perfect for gropper and so I had another, more thorough look/listen this evening and "found" one! It wasn't showing at all well and only gave a three-second view - good enough with a short burst of reeling but photos are not possible ... yet. Maybe it'll be more helpful when it sets-up a territory.
