May 18th - 20th

Dorney Wetlands

Christine Reeve had put this little "peep" out as a probable early afternoon but it wasn't until about 17:30, with the wind dropping and conditions becoming a little easier, when Dave Carter confirmed it as a Temminck's stint.

It stayed three days (at least!) but was difficult and quite a few birders came and went without success.

The vegetation is quite extensive and the little fella would "hide" amongst the green stuff on west marsh and make brief appearances only after being disturbed by mallards or redshank trampling around it.  It did skip around the muddy pools and islands of the east marsh too and so even the miopic had a chance of ticking this tiny wader!
