Together with Moatlands, QMR is as likely a site as any in the county to see these attractive marsh terns. Smaller and fussier flyers than the common terns which are usually around at the same time, they are quite easy to pick out

 

Spring and Autumn passage produces similar numbers of records with May being marginally better than August but with the Autumn passage lingering into September
 

There have been reports of 100+ at Queen Mum in the past but there were only three juveniles amongst the 20 odd, adult & juvenile, commons in blustery conditions on the reservoir today
